My family have now owned 2CVs for over 20 years, here's a little bit about us, our cars and how it all started!

In 1995 my family bought its first 2CV 'The Colonel'. At this time I was 12 and the car was bought simply to run my dad to work, me and my brother to school and take us on the occasional weekend camping break. But within our first year of ownership we had grown very fond of the car. As it became part of the family its duties became limited to 2cv camping weekends and sunny days out with the roof rolled back. Then in 2005 as I passed my driving test The Colonel became my first car and went back to day to day duties driving myself to work each day.

Not surprisingly I loved driving the 2CV as much as I'd loved travelling around in it as a child and as I moved out of home a year or so later, leaving the 2CV behind with my dad, I found I couldn't live without one for long! My first move was to rescue a black and burgundy 2CV known as Dr Nick, from a local garden. But restoration was a slow process and I was still missing those sunny days out driving around with the roof rolled back. So in the summer of 2009 I became the proud owner of Edgar our plum & custard 2CV. On the weekend that we went to collect Edgar myself and my dad travelled to collect him with The Colonel and travelled back in convoy. Now, we have always been used to people waving and smiling as we pass by (in fact it's one of my favourite things about driving a 2CV) but the attention we received on this particular day whilst driving together was fantastic. When we stopped people would rush over to tell us stories of 2CVs they'd owned or just to tell us how much they loved the cars. It was very flattering, although slightly funny to myself as I'd only owned the cars for a couple of hours at the time!

So in 2011 I decided to establish 2CV Wedding Cars and within a few months we were at our first wedding with The Colonel and Lord Edgar for a family who had also grown up with the cars in their life.

As we move into our 8th year in the wedding business I am very proud of the service we have provided, the amazing feedback we have received from our wonderful couples, the fact that we have never let a couple down or even sent a different car to the one requested and that we have even managed to fill in where couples have been otherwise let down.
